Other Israel is proud to be hosting a series of events with world renowned writer Sayed Kashua, exploring Arab identity in light of Israel at 60.
About Sayed Kashua
Sayed Kashua was born in Tira in the Triangle region of Israel. In 1990, he was accepted to a prestigious boarding school in Jerusalem. He studied sociology and philosophy at Hebrew University. Kashua lives with his wife and daughter in Beit Safafa, an Arab neighborhood in southern Jerusalem.

A Look at Life under the GDR
After World War II, the communist German Democratic Republic defined itself as anti-fascist and invited the return of communists and anti-fascists (including Jews) from the West, yet was able, paradoxically, to deny any East German responsibility for the Holocaust, marginalize the reality of Nazi persecution of the Jews, and engage by the early 1950’s in anti-Semitic purges. Learn to take great photos and how to enhance them. Understand how to use your camera’s manual settings to achieve the correct exposure, depth of field, and composition. Concepts unique to digital photography, such as resolution and file size, scanning, retouching, cropping, color-correcting, removing red-eye, and sharpening will be covered.
